Inauguration & Investiture of The International Management Board.

The International President of the Pan-African Dialogue Institute, Dr. Effiong Udoh, described the unveiling and investiture of the International Management Board as a significant milestone in the ongoing mission to strengthen solidarity, promote socio-cultural and economic liberation, and dismantle the remnants of colonial and neo-colonial influences, in alignment with the Institute’s vision.

During his address at the induction ceremony, which took place at the ICT Lecture Hall, University of Uyo Permanent Site, Dr. Udoh emphasized that the event symbolized a shared commitment to advancing Pan-African ideals. He urged Africans to embrace unity, drawing inspiration from the renowned Pan-Africanist and former Ghanaian President, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, who famously stated:The forces that unite us are greater than the super influences that keep us apart.”

Delivering the keynote address on the topic “Repositioning Nigeria in Global Pan-Africanism,” a Professor of Aesthetics from the Department of Theatre Arts and Film Studies, University of Uyo, highlighted the Institute’s dedication to fostering a decolonized mindset across Africa. He stressed the need to revitalize Pan-African values to reclaim and restore the continent’s collective identity.

In his acceptance speech, the Chief Programs Manager of the International Headquarters Management Board, Reverend Dr. Emem Umoren, reaffirmed his team’s dedication to realizing the Pan-African vision and ensuring that the Institute’s objectives are effectively implemented.

Representing the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Uyo, Professor Nyahudoh Ndaoyo, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Professor Anthonial Essien, underscored Africa’s abundant resources and potential. She encouraged Africans to reflect deeply on their heritage and develop a greater appreciation of their true African identity.

The Pan-African Dialogue Institute serves as a network of academics, professionals, civil society groups, and grassroots leaders across Africa and the diaspora. It remains committed to influencing policy development and shaping practices that contribute to Africa’s long-term growth and progress.
