ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
The First International Dialogue Conference on Pan-Africanism was organized by The Pan-African Dialogue Institute in collaboration with the University of Uyo, Nigeria, West Africa. The academic and cultural gathering explored the role of Pan-Africanism in shaping the past, present, and future of the African continent. Under the theme “Pan-Africanism: Dialoguing the Past, Present, and Future,” the conference sought to critically assess the social, political, and economic development trajectories of Africa through the lens of Pan-Africanism. Scholars, graduate students, African thought leaders, and professionals across diverse fields were invited to engage in meaningful dialogue on how Pan-African ideologies, philosophies, and innovations can drive sustainable development and address the continent’s challenges. The event witnessed keynote addresses, paper presentations, arts, golf and essay competitions, cultural exhibitions and displays, and the unveiling of the prototype of the proposed construction of Pan-African City project that will serve as the international headquarters of the institute at the main capus of University of Uyo, Nigeria. Over a thousand onsite and online participants witnessed the events, marking the very first time the International Africa Day was celebrated in Nigeria.
