The Pan-African Dialogue Institute (TPADI) has officially unveiled and inaugurated the Tenders Board for the Pan-African City Project, marking a critical step in strengthening governance, transparency, and due process in the delivery of the landmark continental infrastructure initiative.
The inauguration took place during the 2024 International Dialogue Conference, which was held in Nigeria from 25 to 27 May 2024. The conference, which brought together thought leaders, policymakers, academics, and stakeholders from across Africa and beyond, provided an appropriate institutional platform for the formal constitution of the Tenders Board.
The unveiling of the Tenders Board reflects TPADI’s commitment to sound procurement practices, accountability, and structured project oversight. The Board is mandated to oversee procurement processes, review contractor submissions, ensure compliance with established standards, and uphold transparency throughout the execution of the Pan-African City Project.
Speaking during the inauguration, TPADI leadership emphasized that the establishment of the Tenders Board is a foundational governance measure designed to safeguard the integrity of the project. The Board will play a central role in ensuring that contractor selection, documentation review, and contract awards are conducted in line with approved institutional policies and best practices.
The Pan-African City Project, envisioned as the proposed international headquarters of the Pan-African Dialogue Institute, is a long-term continental infrastructure initiative aimed at providing a permanent physical and intellectual home for Pan-African dialogue, research, policy engagement, cultural exchange, and leadership development. Given the scale and strategic importance of the project, robust governance structures such as the Tenders Board are essential to its successful delivery.
The inauguration of the Tenders Board during the International Dialogue Conference further underscored TPADI’s approach of integrating project governance with its broader Pan-African mission.
