The Pan-African Dialogue Institute (TPADI) is proud to announce a monumental moment in African intellectual history. Under the distinguished leadership of our International President, Associate Prof. Effiong J. Udo, who also serves as the National President of the National Association for Biblical Studies (NABIS) in Nigeria—a historic crossover of Pan-African dialogue and academic theology is set to unfold.
This week, Associate Prof. Udo will preside over the 37th International Conference and landmark 40th Anniversary Celebration of NABIS. For TPADI, this is more than an academic conference; it is a critical platform for reclaiming, celebrating, and documenting indigenous African scholarship. A primary highlight of this historic gathering is the grand public presentation of a masterpiece that directly elevates the African voice in global discourse. The conference will feature the launch of the book: African Biblical Scholarship: A Study of Discipline, Leading Scholars and Impact. This book serves as a vital cornerstone for Pan-Africanists and academics alike.
For too long, theological and historical narratives have been viewed through a Western lens. This landmark publication directly challenges that paradigm by detailing the rich contributions, unique methodologies, and profound impact of disciple-leading African scholars who have shaped the intellectual landscape of the continent. By showcasing this work, our President, Associate Prof. Effiong J. Udo, continues to champion TPADI’s core mission: promoting African-centered solutions, celebrating indigenous intellectual giants, and fostering rigorous dialogue that honors our shared heritage.
We cordially invite all TPADI members, Pan-Africanists, thought leaders, scholars, and the general public to witness this historic book presentation during the official Opening Ceremony. Join us as we honor the legacy of Late Prof. Nyoyoko and celebrate the thriving future of African-led scholarship.
